F1 LIVE: Lewis Hamilton called out by Martin Brundle as FIA boss risks angering teams | F1 | Sport

FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem has changed his tune on Andretti’s F1 entry, suggesting that the American team should buy out one of the existing 10 organisations rather than enter as an 11th team.

“I would advise them to go and buy another team, not to come as the 11th team,” he said. “I feel that some teams need to be refreshed. What is better? To have 11 teams as a number or 10 and they are strong? I still believe we should have more teams. But not any teams. The right teams.”

Ben Sulayem cited Haas and Alpine as the possible teams that Andretti could look to take over, although these comments could anger the current crop of owners, who are keen not to see Andretti join the field.
