F1 LIVE: Miami GP disruption fears as Max Verstappen hits out | F1 | Sport

Formula One returns after a five-week break with this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix. The lengthy lay-off came as a result of the Bahrain and Saudi Grand Prix being cancelled as a result of ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Races scheduled to take place in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in April were cancelled as a result of the war in the Middle East, with bosses confirming that alternative hosts were not viable in April.

But as the action returns this weekend, fans will be eager to see whether Kimi Antonelli will still have momentum on his side following success in China and Japan, as well as if Max Verstappen can turn the tide with Red Bull following a frustrating start to the season.

Verstappen believes Formula One bosses are listening to drivers’ concerns over the new regulations but again hinted that he might not be around to see any improvements. The four-time world champion has been the fiercest critic of the sport’s new rules, labelling it as “Mario Kart” with the onus placed on drivers managing their battery.

Stay tuned as Express Sport brings you all of the latest news and updates in the build-up to the Miami Grand Prix…
