Four players may never play for Arsenal again after this weekend | Football | Sport

Arsenal will finish their Premier League season away to Crystal Palace on Sunday. And for some players, it could mark the final match they represent the club in the top-flight. The Gunners still have a Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain to navigate following their visit to Selhurst Park as they pursue the trophy for the very first time.

However, several members of Mikel Arteta‘s current squad could depart this summer. Christian Norgaard has endured a difficult season, having only arrived in the summer of 2025 from Brentford. He has been omitted from the last two Premier League matchday squads and may not be involved on Sunday ahead of an early exit. Ben White has also been linked with a departure from the Emirates, but is unavailable for the Palace encounter.

Yet some of Arteta’s group might make a final league outing before a possible exit and Express Sport examines four names in particular…

With both Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz now apparently ahead of Gabriel Jesus in the Arsenal striker hierarchy, the Brazilian could pursue fresh opportunities this summer.

Jesus penned a five-year contract when he joined from Manchester City in 2022 and there has seemingly been no advancement on an extension. This means his deal will run out, as things stand, in 2027.

The upcoming transfer window could therefore represent Arsenal’s last chance to command a fee for the 29-year-old, who currently ranks amongst their highest earners. Although he was absent from their most recent victory over Burnley, he was named on the bench and remains eligible to feature against Palace.

Trossard, who has netted several vital goals for the Gunners in recent weeks, could find himself in a comparable position to Jesus. The Belgian is 31 years old and his deal runs until 2027.

Arsenal did demonstrate their commitment to Trossard at the start of the season by boosting his wages, yet should an attractive offer materialise in the summer, they may well decide to cash in.

The arrivals of Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke have fuelled speculation that he could depart, and the Palace fixture may prove to be the last time supporters witness him in the Premier League. It should be noted, however, that the Belgian has previously dismissed such talk as mere rumour.

Less likely to depart than either Jesus or Trossard, Myles Lewis-Skelly has struggled to nail down a regular starting berth at Arsenal this season, having begun just four league matches.

The 19-year-old had a remarkable 2025, earning his first England cap and firmly establishing himself within Arteta’s first-team plans. However, with Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie now on board, his playing time has been significantly curtailed. The Palace clash could yet prove to be his final league appearance in an Arsenal shirt.

Should the club choose to sell Lewis-Skelly, any fee generated would represent pure profit and could be reinvested elsewhere. The BBC has reported that both he and fellow academy graduate Ethan Nwaneri could be sold for a combined £100m.

Letting Gabriel Martinelli go may appear an outlandish notion, yet reports suggest the Gunners have their sights set on another world-class winger this summer who can light up the opposite flank to Bukayo Saka.

Martinelli has been a devoted servant to Arsenal, and his pace from the bench has proved instrumental to their recent achievements. However, his contract is due to expire in 2027 unless the club opts to trigger a one-year extension. He is also far from guaranteed a starting berth.

One would anticipate him featuring at Selhurst Park, whether from the off or as an impact substitute, but should things come to fruition in the forthcoming window, he may soon be plying his trade elsewhere.

In January, Martinelli was linked with a switch to the Saudi Pro League. More recent speculation suggests that PSG and Bayern Munich have registered their interest, with any potential sale possibly bankrolling a marquee attacking signing, along the lines of Julian Alvarez.
