Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner are in opposite halves of the French Open draw and could meet in the final next month – but the Serbian has still been given a very difficult path to the championship match. Djokovic has been given a blockbuster first-round clash against big-hitting French giant Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard while world No.1 Sinner, who is on a brilliant run of form, takes on French wildcard Clement Tabur in his opener.
With defending men’s champion Carlos Alcaraz absent through injury, Sinner and Djokovic are among the main title favourites. And to meet the Italian in the final, 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic could first run into highly-rated young Brazilian teenager Joao Fonseca in round three. If he wins that, the 38-year-old could face two-time runner-up at this Slam, Casper Ruud, in round four. Alexander Zverev is a possible semi-final opponent.
Sinner’s route to the final means he stands to face the winner of Britain’s Jacob Fearnley vs Manuel Cerundolo in round two. He could face Ben Shelton or Alexander Bublik in the quarter-finals before a potential semi-final showdown with Daniil Medvedev.
After Fearnley, the two other British men in the draw are 20th seed Cameron Norrie, who plays Paraguayan Adolfo Daniel Vallejo, and qualifier Toby Samuel. Since the start of 2025, Samuel has risen by 1,708 places to 159th in the current rankings. His opponent has yet to be confirmed.
Veteran Gael Monfils, in his final French Open appearance, takes on fellow Frenchman Hugo Gaston in a battle of the wildcards. While Stan Wawrinka, 41, will go head-to-head with the in-form home hope Arthur Fils in a thrilling first-round match as the Swiss legend also says farewell to the tournament.
Alcaraz will miss this year’s tournament due to a wrist injury on his right hand. The Spaniard explained last week that he will also miss Wimbledon because of the issue.
British No.2 Jack Draper and world No.11 Lorenzo Musetti are among the other notable absentees. The complete draw can be found below.

In the women’s draw, all three British players have avoided playing seeds in the first round. Emma Raducanu will take on Argentina’s Sierra Solana, ranked 64th in the world, with Katie Boulter paired against wildcard Akasha Urhobo.
Francesca Jones takes on Beatriz Haddad Maia, though, who reached the semi-finals at Roland Garros back in 2023. The women’s top seed, world No.1, Aryna Sabalenka will start her title bid against the 51st-ranked Jessica Bouzas.
Defending champion Coco Gauff takes on fellow American Taylor Townsend while Iga Swiatek plays Australian 17-year-old Emerson Jones. Elina Svitolina takes on Anna Bondar, who she beat in the first round last year.
Svitolina also defeated the Hungarian No.1 in round two at Wimbledon in 2025 but then lost in the opening round of the US Open to the same opponent two months later. The pair met at the recent Madrid Open where Bondar again won. The full draw can be found below.
