Gabby Logan is one of the main BBC presenters at the 2026 World Cup, with Logan, Mark Chapman, Alex Scott and Kelly Cates replacing Gary Lineker, who left the Beeb last year. Express Sport takes a closer look at Logan’s broadcasting journey and personal life.
The daughter of Welsh football legend Terry Yorath, who sadly died earlier this year, the television presenter is a former rhythmic gymnast who competed for Wales at the 1990 Commonwealth Games before launching her broadcasting journey in 1992. She moved to Sky Sports in 1996 and subsequently fronted Sport Relief for the BBC in 2004 before joining the corporation three years later.
In 2008, she was handed her own breakfast programme on BBC Radio 5 Live. The 51-year-old has contributed to a diverse range of sports across multiple BBC programmes. These include Final Score, Invictus Games, MOTD Six Nations, World Swimming Championships, and coverage of the 2022 World Cup and 2024 Paris Games.
Given her vast industry experience, it is little surprise that she has amassed a considerable reported net worth of approximately £4million throughout her career. This places her as the highest-earning woman in sports journalism.
According to figures from Sportcasting via SPORTbible, she ranked seventh on a list of Britain’s top-earning sports presenters and pundits for 2024, earning £210,000. She is thought to earn similar now.
Gabby’s husband is Kenny Logan – a former Scotland rugby star who hung up his boots in 2004. During his career as a winger, he claimed three Premiership titles with Wasps and one Scottish Premiership title with Stirling County, while also pulling on the Scotland shirt on 70 occasions.
The pair wed in 2001, with Gabby adopting Logan in place of her maiden name Yorath. They are proud parents to twins Reuben and Lois, born on July 28, 2005.
Both Gabby and Kenny took part in the 2007 series of Strictly Come Dancing. Kenny was partnered with Ola Jordan, while Gabby took to the floor with James, Ola’s husband.
It proved a disappointment for Gabby, who finished 12th and was eclipsed by Kenny, who reached fifth place.
The former rugby star, 52, was diagnosed with prostate cancer but was given the all-clear following treatment in 2022. “It’s hard because when you’re told you’ve got cancer… I literally fell over,” Logan confessed on BBC Breakfast. “I had no symptoms whatsoever.”

Logan utilised a portion of her considerable income to acquire a stunning Edwardian mansion in Buckinghamshire, where she resides with Kenny. She frequently offers her Instagram followers glimpses into her residence.
Logan acknowledged that extensive modernisation and renovation work was required on the property, though she takes great pride in the outcome. “It’s an Edwardian house with a lot of character, but we have done loads of work to bring it right up to date. It is incredibly sunny and has loads of light, which I love,” she revealed to The Metro.
The opulent property boasts an open-plan kitchen and dining area decorated with cream walls, black marble worktops, and a waterfall island.
Throughout the pandemic, she transformed her living room into a makeshift studio for television appearances. On the upper floor, her bedroom maintains a comparable aesthetic with light grey walls and carpeting, enhanced by cream furnishings.
Gabby and Kenny’s bedroom features a private dressing room with floor-to-ceiling wardrobes and shelving. Beyond her home office, the fitness devotee also maintains her own home gymnasium, which contains various apparatus including a jump box, treadmill, spin bike, and cross trainer.
