Iran accused of ‘heinous aggression’ as Trump ‘planning’ devastating new strikes | World | News
Kuwait has accused Iran of launching a number of drones within its airspace, in a move branded a “heinous aggression”. On Saturday, Kuwait’s military said that its air defenses intercepted drone attacks from Iran.
The Gulf state has been a target of Iranian retaliation in response to US military actions in the region. Iran has previously launched attacks against locations linked to the United States within that country as a way of responding to American strikes. On Friday, Tehran claimed that it had carried out an attack on a US military base there, signaling its willingness to retaliate directly against American interests and highlighting the risk of the conflict spreading further across the region.
Major General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, official Spokesman for the Ministry of Defense said the armed forces have detected, since dawn today, hostile drones within Kuwaiti airspace, and they have been dealt with and destroyed.
He added that the heinous Iranian aggression targeted a number of vital facilities, including a government facility in the north of the country, as well as civilian vehicles belonging to one of the civil companies on Bubiyan Island, resulting in material damage due to falling shrapnel, with no human injuries recorded, praise be to God.
The armed forces said they will continue carrying out their duties effectively while maintaining a high level of readiness. They added that all necessary measures are being taken, in coordination with relevant authorities, to protect the country’s sovereignty, ensure security and stability, and safeguard the well-being of citizens and residents.
