Johnny Depp’s first return to Hollywood movie sets release date | Films | Entertainment
After winning his libel case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, Johnny Depp has been gradually returning to acting and directing. Having shot a few projects independently over in Europe, it was announced last year that the Jack Sparrow star was to make his first Hollywood studio movie comeback.
Depp has filmed an action thriller called Day Drinker alongside Penélope Cruz, who previously co-starred opposite him in Blow, Murder on the Orient Express and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The film’s being helmed by Lionsgate, a smaller Hollywood studio which has a track record of working with previously cancelled and/or controversial characters from the Michael Jackson movie biopics to the Mel Gibson-directed The Resurrection of the Christ Parts 1 and 2.
