Leeds have yet to part with a pound this summer as Daniel Farke seeks to improve upon a 14th-place Premier League finish. Nevertheless, several opportunities have presented themselves to the Whites after receiving positive signals from certain targets.
Harry Wilson stands as the sole new addition at Elland Road following his agreement to join on a free transfer. The Wales international will offer valuable cover in wide and No. 10 roles but gaps within the squad still require addressing. In the wake of Pascal Struijk’s departure to Brighton, central defence in particular demands strengthening. And Express Sport has examined which £73million trio could be secured in the coming days.
Tarik Muharemovic
Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic would represent a substantial outlay given his reported £34m price tag. In fact, that figure would fall just shy of Leeds’ club-record £35.5m spent on recruiting Georginio Rutter from Hoffenheim in 2022.
Yet following an impressive showing for Bosnia and Herzegovina at this summer’s World Cup, the investment appears sound. Moreover, negotiations between Leeds and Sassuolo are understood to have made encouraging progress, suggesting the left-sided centre-half is keen on the move.

Inter Milan had been mooted as a possible landing spot for Muharemovic earlier in the summer. While the Serie A champions have stepped back from a deal, it demonstrates just how highly rated the player has become during his time in Italy.
With the 23-year-old’s World Cup duties now complete, Leeds can push ahead with finalising the transfer.

Nico Elvedi
Another target whose circumstances have been clarified after the conclusion of his World Cup commitments is Nico Elvedi. The Borussia Monchengladbach defender was part of the Switzerland squad that fell to Argentina in Saturday’s quarter-final.
In theory, Elvedi could be recruited alongside Muharemovic given the pair offer distinctly different attributes. The right-footed 29-year-old has fewer than 12 months remaining on his current deal in Germany.
That is a significant factor behind his reported availability for as little as £9m, according to the Daily Mail. It has also emerged Elvedi, who has been linked with Farke’s side since early 2025, is reportedly willing to make the move to Leeds, who are alleged to have already seen one offer for the defender turned down.

Shea Charles
Despite the requirement for fresh blood in defence, Leeds would certainly not reject additional support in midfield or attack. And the chase for Southampton’s Shea Charles is one that may come to fruition imminently.
Leeds have reportedly held discussions with the Saints but have yet to reach an agreement on the fee. It’s indicated Southampton are seeking £30m for their player, while Leeds’ bid currently stands nearer the £23m figure.
Most encouraging of all, though, are the indications Charles strongly prefers a switch to Elland Road. Aston Villa, Fulham and Crystal Palace have also been associated with his signature, suggesting there is no lack of Premier League interest.
Former Manchester City youngster Charles, 22, was unlucky to be part of a Southampton outfit that narrowly failed to secure Premier League promotion following the Spygate scandal. Yet all indications point towards a promising path back to England’s top division with Leeds, provided the two clubs can settle on a fee.
