If you’re jetting off on holiday soon, one travel enthusiast has revealed a game-changing tip to help you save hours when departing from Luton Airport.
Nobody enjoys being stuck in lengthy queues, but this traveller has explained how to fast-track any waiting time – a straightforward trick many passengers aren’t aware of.
Offering his guidance, the content creator, known as @travellyman on TikTok, said: “Do this between four days and one hour before you get to the airport.”
The tip involves pre-booking your security slot via the airport’s website – and it won’t cost you a penny. By reserving a time slot, travellers use a dedicated security lane, allowing them to bypass the standard queues and pass through in mere minutes rather than hanging about for hours.
According to the traveller, the impact is significant, with some passengers clearing security in as little as five minutes.
Fellow users were swift to share their own suggestions in the comments.
One user said: “Here’s two better ones – book VIP parking, you get a free fast pass. Cancel the parking and keep the fast pass. Second one – if you have an EV, drop-off is free.”
Another added: “If I’m only taking hand luggage, I order toiletries online from Boots and collect them at the airport so my case isn’t full.”
A third said: “We did this and walked straight through security in under five minutes. I felt awful for the massive queues.”
What is prebook security?
Luton Airport states Prebook Security allows you to skip the queues by reserving a 30-minute window in Airport Security.
With the facility presently only accessible for those arriving between 3am and 3pm, all that’s required is to reserve a 30-minute time slot for security in the days leading up to your arrival.
The statement from the airport continued: “On the day of travel, head towards security and follow the signs for ‘Prebook Security’ where you’ll find a team member ready and waiting to welcome you.
“You can pre-book this service from 4 days before your arrival, right up until 60 minutes before you arrive at security (subject to availability).
“Booking this service is completely free, does not require any login or registration and is available to all guests. So why wait? Pre-book your slot now.
“Please note that Prebook Security operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and you will be subject to LLA’s ordinary security checks in the order you arrive at Prebook Security alongside other Prebook Security users.
“If you use Prebook Security, we are unable to guarantee the time it will take to undertake security checks through the Airport Security area.”
