Man Utd transfer agreement reached as INEOS seal first piece of business | Football | Sport
United will also be missing Lisandro Martinez, who was sent off for a hair pull on Dominic Calvert-Lewin on Monday night. The Argentinian could be handed a three-match ban for the violent conduct, meaning Carrick will need further defensive reshuffling by the weekend.
With just six games left, United will be hoping to conclude the season strongly and secure Champions League qualification. Here, Express Sport has all the latest developments emerging from Old Trafford.
Transfer agreement reached
Altay Bayindir has reportedly reached an agreement to leave Old Trafford this summer to return to Turkey. The back-up goalkeeper arrived in September 2023 from Fenerbahce for a fee of £4.3million.
However, he has managed just 17 appearances in two-and-a-half years and has stood in for the likes of Andre Onana and Senne Lammens.
Bayindir had featured in a handful of matches at the start of the campaign, but the arrival of Lammens from Royal Antwerp witnessed him slip further down the hierarchy once again.
Turkish publication Fanatik claim that the 27-year-old has agreed personal terms with Besiktas, who had been linked with the goalkeeper in January. It’s understood that INEOS will not obstruct the Turkish stopper’s departure.
The move is expected to be completed at the end of the season. With his deal at Old Trafford running until 2027, the club should secure a modest fee for his exit.
Utd receive boost in £90m fight
United have received a timely boost in their pursuit of Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers. Sky Sports France claim that the 23-year-old is ‘very open’ to an Old Trafford switch if they do qualify for the Champions League.
European football is said to be a crucial element in the England international’s decision-making for next season. Chelsea are also interested, but their current sixth-place position could work in United’s favour for Rogers.
Arsenal and Bayern Munich also hold an interest, while Villa value Rogers at a substantial £90m.
With the World Cup also approaching this summer, United may wish to finalise an agreement swiftly, given Rogers is expected to feature prominently for England.
