Marcus Rashford makes decision on Arsenal transfer and leaving Man Utd | Football | Sport

Newcastle and Tottenham have also been linked with the winger, yet Rashford remains firmly set on returning to the Camp Nou following an impressive loan spell in which he amassed 28 goal contributions. That outstanding form earned him an England recall and a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad, where he’ll be competing with Gordon for a starting position.

With Barcelona having splashed out £69million on Gordon, their purchase option for Rashford, worth under half that figure, appears unlikely to be exercised. And with a return to United also seemingly off the table, numerous clubs have shown their hand, only to be categorically rebuffed.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Newcastle have all made contact for Rashford, but the England international is unwilling to entertain offers from any of those clubs. Chelsea are also monitoring his situation closely.

All of those Premier League clubs are in the market for a left-winger, with Manchester City‘s Savinho back on Spurs’ radar. Newcastle, meanwhile, find themselves locked in a tussle with Chelsea for Swedish wonderkid Zadok Yohanna.

The Gunners have their sights set on Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers. While not a natural wide player like Rashford, he is capable of playing there but prefers to be deployed in central areas.

Arsenal would benefit more from recruiting a touchline winger, yet it appears they will need to cast their net beyond Rashford. His position could yet change, however, with Barcelona firmly focused on Julian Alvarez.

Mikel Arteta‘s side have also been linked with Alvarez, but appear more likely to secure Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi. Paris Saint-Germain were linked to the teenager but are more concentrated on Liverpool target Yan Diomande.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s Nathaniel Brown has attracted considerable interest from north London, though Bayern Munich appear to have stolen a march on their rivals for his signature.

Departures from the Emirates Stadium are also expected, with Reiss Nelson, Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus among those deemed surplus to requirements and free to seek pastures new.

Gabriel Martinelli, Ben White and Leandro Trossard are the high-profile names who could be sold to raise funds. The latter was recently pressed on his future and fell short of making any firm commitment, with his destiny likely to be decided after the World Cup.
