Marcus Rashford touched down in Miami ahead of his England teammates, and was pictured training solo before Thomas Tuchel’s squad arrived in the United States. The Manchester United forward made use of Inter Miami’s facilities before linking up with the Three Lions this week.

The Barcelona loanee posted several photographs of himself putting in the hard yards in the Florida sunshine, alongside the caption: “PREPARED!” England will be headquartered in Miami throughout the tournament, with Rashford clearly determined to arrive in peak condition.

However, fresh reports suggest Barca are seeking to pay just half of the pre-agreed fee, banking on United being desperate to move the England star on. Mail Online claims Barcelona are hopeful of striking a cut-price arrangement for the foeward, who is willing to take cut on his £325,000 a week wages.

The La Liga giants are reportedly unwilling to stump up the full £26m to land Rashford, having already splashed £69.3m on Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon. Rashford is understood to have scheduled discussions with United as he seeks clarity over his future ahead of the World Cup campaign, though it remains to be seen whether Michael Carrick’s appointment will have any bearing on his situation.

The forward enjoyed a break in Florida following the conclusion of his season in Spain, completing a warm-weather training camp to ensure he arrives in peak condition before linking up with his international teammates.

The majority of the squad touched down at their base at The Belgrove Resort and Spa yesterday, with Rashford expected to join the group later this week. Tuchel has also made his ambitions for this summer’s tournament abundantly clear, telling his Three Lions stars he expects them to return as world champions.

The England manager said: “The mission, why we are here, is very, very clear. We want to be world champions. We want to put the second star on our shirt.

“And for me, it’s very important that we just speak about it. Just straight away speak about it. The mission, the target of this mission is clear: second star on our shirt.”
