People will argue forever about the greatest films ever made. Some prefer modern blockbusters packed with action, while others still believe the older classics have never been beaten.
But when fans start debating the best movie of all time, there is one title that keeps appearing again and again. Many viewers even say films like it simply are not made anymore. Today, it still holds a 93% critics score and 93% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie in question is the 1962 epic Lawrence of Arabia.
Directed by David Lean and starring Peter O’Toole, the film has long been regarded as one of the greatest movies ever made.
It follows British officer T. E. Lawrence during the First World War and is based on his experiences in the Middle East.
The film won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, while it also picked up four Golden Globes and four BAFTA Awards.
Viewers continue to praise almost every part of the film, from the cinematography and soundtrack to the performances and writing.
One person said in a review on Rotten Tomatoes: “As close to perfect as a film can be. They don’t make them like this anymore.”
Another added: “Best film ever made. A visually breathtaking masterpiece of monumental scale, the film remains one of the greatest achievements in epic cinema.”
A third wrote: “Best movie of all time. Cinematography is amazing. Acting is incredible. Screenplay is phenomenal. There were great movies before and there have been since. But this is the best of all time.”
Someone else commented: “You don’t just feel the weight of the movie, but that of the entire production behind it. It’s like you can almost hear the sand grinding up the equipment, smell the sweat of everyone involved and feel the long hours under the scorching sun. This is one for the ages.”

The cast also includes Alec Guinness, Omar Sharif, Anthony Quinn, Jack Hawkins and Claude Rains.
The movie was based partly on Lawrence’s 1926 book Seven Pillars of Wisdom and was filmed across locations including Jordan, Morocco and Spain.
It became famous for its desert scenes and large-scale production at a time when filmmaking relied far less on visual effects and computer graphics.
In 1991, Lawrence of Arabia was also selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry because of its cultural and historical importance.
On top of that, the British Film Institute named Lawrence of Arabia the third-greatest British film in 1999.
In 2004, it was voted the best British film in The Sunday Telegraph’s poll of Britain’s leading filmmakers.
