May Bank Holiday opening times for Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Marks and Spencer and more
Tesco
Tesco stores, including Tesco Express and superstores, will operate under their usual opening hours over the Bank Holiday weekend. On Monday, May 4, however, the majority of large Tesco supermarkets will close a bit earlier.
- Saturday, May 2 – usual opening hours
- Sunday, May 3 – usual opening hours
- Monday, May 4 – 8am to 6pm
Lidl
Lidl stores are expected to operate on reduced hours on Monday, with most stores across the country opening from 8am to 8pm.
Sainsbury’s
Most Sainsbury’s stores across the UK will close earlier on Bank Holiday Monday. Smaller convenience stores are expected to keep their usual hours.

- Monday, May 4 – 8am to 8pm
Morrisons
Morrisons stores will close earlier on Monday, May 4, opening from 7am to 8pm. Petrol stations will continue to operate as usual, although hours could vary by location.

- Monday, May 4 – 7am to 8pm
Asda
Some Asda stores are set to close earlier on Bank Holiday Monday, although Asda 24-hour stores will open as usual.
Marks and Spencer
Marks and Spencer will run reduced opening hours over the May Bank Holiday, with some stores closing at 6pm on Monday. Smaller Foodhalls, however, will remain open until later.

Aldi
Supermarket Aldi will also operate reduced hours on Monday, May 4, with most stores opening from 8am to 8pm.
