Mirra Andreeva is hoping to continue her quest to become one of the best women’s players on the planet by winning the French Open on Saturday. The 19-year-old dismantled Kostyuk 6-1, 6-3 to reach her first-ever grand slam final last week. Her victory means she’s the fourth-youngest French Open finalist over the last three decades, behind only Martina Hingis, Kim Clijsters and Coco Gauff.

The Russian star has been one of the highlights of the 2026 season after bursting onto the scene at last year’s Wimbledon, where she reached the quarter-finals. Andreeva is expected to be a huge name in the sport in the coming years. From her net worth and her relationship with British tennis icon Andy Murray to her view on representing Russia in light of their invasion of Ukraine, which began in 2022, Express Sport takes a closer look at the teenage prodigy.

Mirra Andreeva’s net worth

Andreeva’s estimated net worth is believed to be between £743,000 and a stunning £3.7million, although the exact figure is unclear.

The 19-year-old is a multiple WTA 1000 champion and now a Grand Slam finalist, meaning she has significantly boosted her earnings through prize money and endorsement deals.

Winning the WTA 1000 title in Dubai in 2025 gave Andreeva one of her biggest paydays as she bagged £445,000. According to official tour records, she has earned over £6.6m in career prize money.

Earlier reports had tallied her earnings as slightly lower, but it’s certain her bank balance has continued to grow. Andreeva earned just £19,000 in prize money in 2022. Come 2025, she took in £3.4m in prize money alone.

Texts with Andy Murray

Andreeva opened up on an interaction with tennis hero Murray in 2023. The then 16-year-old reached the fourth round of the Madrid Open after beating two top-20 opponents.

During her run in the Spanish capital, a playful exchange between Andreeva and Murray went viral on social media. The Russian described Murray as “beautiful.” Murray later replied on X: “Imagine how good she’s going to be when she gets her eyes fixed.”

Andreeva also said she sent a text message to the two-time Wimbledon champion after he won the Aix-en-Provence ATP Challenger title.

“After he won a Challenger, I texted him,” Andreeva said. “I said, ‘Congratulations’. He actually answered me, so I was really happy about it. He said, ‘Thank you, and good luck in Roland Garros.’ Maybe that’s why I’m playing that good now.”

Mirra Andreeva’s stance on Russian nationality

Andreeva has no plans to renounce her Russian citizenship amid several players defecting to other nations. Andreeva and her Russian counterparts are unable to compete under the Russian flag in events such as the Olympics and the Davis Cup.

Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Daria Kasatkina gained Australian citizenship. Similarly, Anastasia Potapova now represents Austria.

Andreeva has not considered copying her peers despite spending the last few years training in Cannes, France. The teenager, speaking at the Australian Open, said: “I haven’t even thought about it. I’ve heard and seen it lately, especially about Kasatkina and how she changed her citizenship.

“Many players have switched, but I’m going to keep playing as I am. I haven’t had any offers or anything like that, so for now, I’ll continue as is. It doesn’t bring any extra pressure for me. I’m just doing my thing on the court. I focus on how to improve and be a better tennis player.”
