Mohamed Salah next club statement released as transfer update issued | Football | Sport

Mohamed Salah’s agent has released a statement hinting that the former Liverpool forward’s future could be decided “very soon”. The Egyptian left Anfield at the end of the season, on a free transfer, having agreed with the club to end his contract despite having a year left on the deal.

Salah guided Egypt to the last 16 of the World Cup but since they were knocked out by finalists Argentina, speculation has grown about the 34-year-old’s future. He has been linked with moves to Saudi Arabia, including Al-Hilal, while MLS clubs and sides in Turkey are also said to have registered an interest.

Now his agent Ramy Abbas Issa has indicated that Salah’s next move is drawing closer.

Taking to social media, he wrote: “We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season by [sic] we may know very soon.

“It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn’t want to play for, just for the sake of noise.”

This follows two earlier posts from Abbas regarding Salah’s future. “We do not know where Mohamed will play next season,” he wrote on May 24.

“This also means that no one else knows. Beware of the click-w****** attention seekers.”

That pointed response came just hours after Salah had featured in his 442nd and final appearance for Liverpool.

On June 12, Abbas added: “Mohamed is doing perfectly fine and neither he nor I prefer to discuss sensitive future plans with people not involved in them.

“Both he and I are very private about these things. Yes, people may ask and they may get a standard polite response but that’s about it.”
