Rich family offers £50,000 for someone to care for their dogs and home
A wealthy family is searching for someone to manage their large home and care for two dogs, offering a salary of £50,000. The full-time position involves working for a “friendly, down-to-earth family” to help with the smooth running of their household.
Responsibilities include looking after their two dogs, including daily walks, feeding, and letting them in and out of their property in Chobham, Surrey. The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a degree of flexibility required. The role, which starts in September, has a salary of £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience.
The job description reads: “A friendly, down-to-earth family based in Chobham is seeking a reliable and proactive full-time Housekeeper to support the smooth running of their home.
“This is a hands-on role within a large family home, suited to someone who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of day-to-day household tasks.
It added: “The family are looking for someone practical, adaptable and easy to have around, who is happy to get on with what needs doing without close direction.”
The family have four children aged 12 to 22. A car will be provided to the successful applicant for use during working hours.
Duties include the full housekeeping of the property, such as cleaning, tidying and maintaining an orderly home, along with laundry, ironing and wardrobe management. When the family are away, the housekeeper would be responsible for looking after the home and dogs.
There would be “a fair amount” of driving during the school holidays, for example, going to sports activities, parties, shops and children’s commitments.
The successful candidate would work with external contractors as required and carry out light gardening duties. Requirements for the position include prior experience working in a private household and the confidence to manage a home independently.
The family are seeking someone who is proactive, organised and able to use their initiative. Being comfortable around dogs and their daily care is essential, along with being flexible and reliable.
Candidates should have strong driving experience, fluent English and the right to work in the UK. The benefits of the role have been described as “long-term and stable” with a “competitive hourly rate”.
There would also be the opportunity to “shape the role over time” and work alongside a “supportive” family. Those interested in the position can submit their CVs to Home Organisers.
