Save some dough as Pizza Express is offering free pizza to celebrate National Pizza Day
Pizza lovers everywhere can rejoice, as Pizza Express is offering a free pizza to diners today to celebrate National Pizza Day.
Pizza Express is celebrating National Pizza Day by giving customers a free medium cheese pizza to anyone who walks into one of their restaurants wearing a black-and-white stripy t-shirt.
On Instagram, Pizza Express said: “This Friday we want you to ‘earn your stripes’. Don your favourite striped top, and we’ll reward you with a free classic Margherita pizza.”
The clothing choice is a nod to the pizza chain’s iconic logo and uniform. Pizza Express also added that its chain is known for its “black and white striped attire dating back to 1965.”
Pizza Express is also offering a choice of a classic, vegan or gluten-free pizza so everyone can take part in the fun.

To claim a free cheesy pizza, you simply need to wear a black-and-white t-shirt, receive a ‘National Pizza Day’ promotion token once inside a Pizza Express restaurant and also be seated by 4 pm.
Paula MacKenzie, CEO at PizzaExpress, said: “This National Pizza Day sees us pay homage to our incredible pizza chefs, through celebrating our iconic black and white stripes.
“Stripes have played a huge part in our identity, dating back to 1965, so don your stripes and celebrate National Pizza Day with the original Margherita pizza, for free!”
