Spider-Man Brand New Day box office smashes Avengers Endgame all-time record | Films | Entertainment

Last weekend, Spider-Man Brand New Day hit cinemas to critical acclaim and box office bonanza. The first Spider-Man movie in five years (Tom Holland’s fourth solo Marvel film as Peter Parker and his sixth MCU outing to date) broke Avengers Endgame’s preview day records.

This is very significant as the latter blockbuster was briefly the highest-grossing film ever made. And now Brand New Day has broken one of Endgame’s massive all-time records.

Avengers Endgame was the No 1 box office opening in the USA with $357 million taken in its opening weekend back in 2019. But now Spider-Man Brand New Day has surpassed its fellow Marvel movie with $360 million. Lucky for Endgame, it remains the biggest global opening of all time with $1.2 billion compared to Brand New Day’s impressive second place on $927 million.

As it stands. Brand New Day is already the highest-grossing film of 2026, having already topped Holland and Zendaya’s other film, The Odyssey, with $911 million and counting. Toy Story 5 is currently No 1 film of the year on $1.06 billion, but expect Brand New Day, The Odyssey and Avengers Doomsday to beat that. And maybe even Dune Part 3.
