Teenage girl kidnapped, gang-raped, and dumped near hospital | World | News
Two men have been arrested after a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped. The young girl sat alone outside a hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli district in India. She was allegedly kidnapped and gangraped by the two men, both of whom were arrested after the incident that is said to have taken place on Tuesday evening. Police were told by the girl’s mother that she was sitting alone outside a hospital around 7 pm when two men forced her to go with them.
The two men were reportedly associated with a power company in the area. Police said that the girl was allegedly taken to a riverside, where she was assaulted by the men and kept overnight. She was then allegedly left near the hospital the following morning, and her family reported the incident to the police.
Arrests were made by a special investigations team.
The case has been registered by local police under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as well as sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The accused men appeared before a local court. They remain in judicial custody.
Police have said that further investigations are underway.
