There is an astonishing 400ft-high skyscraper built over 34 storeys – and it even has a massive £15million mansion perched on top offering stunning 360-degree views.
Kingfisher Towers was built in the city of Bengaluru in India. It occupies a huge 4.5 acres of land, with 81 units across three blocks.
Even more astonishing, on the very top, is a 40,000 square-foot mansion with 360-degree views of the city below. But despite sitting on top of 42 apartments below it, the home offers complete privacy.
The home was built by architecture firm Prestige Groups for Indian businessman Vijay Mallya, who is known as the ‘King of Good Times’ because of his lavish lifestyle.
But it’s rumored that Mallya has never actually seen the home – he reportedly fled India and moved to the UK before the build was ever finished.
Mallya hasn’t returned to India since with the Indian government reportedly tried to extradite him back to face charges of fraud and financial crimes after defaulting on debts of more than £800million.
Mallya’s mansion, on the other hand, was supposedly modelled after the White House in Washington DC and is entirely separate from the other units in the tower.
It has two storeys and is surrounded by a grassy lawn, helipad, open deck and infinity pool overlooking Bengaluru’s business district.
Irfan Razack, the chairman of Prestige Estates Projects, which is part of the joint project to construct the tower, spoke about the challenges they have faced in its construction.
He said: “It was a challenge to construct the mansion on a huge cantilever at that height, but we have ensured we built it exactly the way it was conceived. It’s a complex structure and the finishing work is going on.”
The building was included in LoveProperty’s list of the world’s weirdest skyscrapers alongside the Umeda Sky Building in Osaka, the Norddeutsche Landesbank in Hanover, and the Abraj Al-Bait Towers in Mecca.
