Tottenham face a number of significant decisions in the summer transfer window, should the club secure Premier League survival. New boss Roberto De Zerbi may look to reshape his squad to ensure Spurs do not find themselves embroiled in another relegation battle.

It has been a thoroughly miserable season for Tottenham, who claimed their first league victory since December last weekend. The side sit two points adrift of safety with four matches remaining to preserve their top-flight status. Should Spurs accomplish their goal, De Zerbi will be keen to strengthen his options considerably. Here, Express Sport examines how a dream Spurs squad could take shape ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Guglielmo Vicario has been the undisputed first choice since his arrival in 2023, yet Spurs could be poised to make a change between the sticks. The 29-year-old is reportedly a target for Inter Milan, and De Zerbi may opt to put his trust in an alternative goalkeeper.

Antonin Kinsky has looked composed in his recent outings, recovering well from his difficult moment against Atletico Madrid earlier this campaign. The 23-year-old would be well-placed to step up as first choice should Vicario choose to depart.

The Daily Mail has linked Spurs with a move for Freiburg and Germany U21 international Noah Atubolu, who could offer genuine competition for Kinsky. Meanwhile, Brandon Austin retains his place as third-choice goalkeeper.

Premier League survival would allow Spurs to retain their defensive stalwarts, including Cristian Romero, Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie. However, the club could look to cash in on Micky van de Ven, who has attracted interest from Liverpool and Manchester United, should they fall short of their seasonal targets and miss out on European competition.

Offloading Van de Ven would open the door for Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi, who is expected to become available on a free transfer. The 28-year-old has emerged as a key target, and securing top-flight status would be pivotal in getting that deal over the line. Likewise, Andy Robertson could link up with De Zerbi’s squad following his departure from Liverpool.

Hamburg loanee Luka Vuskovic will provide cover at centre-back alongside Kevin Danso, while Radu Dragusin is expected to be moved on this summer.

At full-back, Djed Spence offers an alternative option to Porro, while promising young left-back Souza is set to be loaned out following Robertson’s arrival. Should Spurs retain their Premier League status, Ben Davies will also depart when his contract expires this summer.

Avoiding the drop would enable Spurs to make Joao Palhinha’s loan move from Bayern Munich permanent for approximately £21.7million. De Zerbi already boasts considerable depth in midfield but is unlikely to sanction the departure of the likes of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall as part of his rebuilding plans.

Pape Matar Sarr is reportedly in discussions over a switch to Fenerbahce and would be permitted to depart, while Yves Bissouma is approaching the final stages of his contract. The Spurs boss will hopefully be strengthened by the return of James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski following lengthy injury lay-offs.

The pair will provide competition for Xavi Simons, who picked up his own injury concern at the weekend. Meanwhile, Rodrigo Bentancur and Conor Gallagher offer additional options in the engine room.

Spurs look set to overhaul their attack following a deeply frustrating campaign. Randal Kolo Muani is unlikely to have his loan extended, while Richarlison and Mathys Tel have struggled to fire Spurs to safety.

The club have been linked with a surprise swoop for Marcus Rashford should he fail to secure a permanent move to Barcelona. The England international would make the left flank his own, with Wilson Odobert offering another alternative.

Spurs could preserve their Premier League status at West Ham’s expense, which would hand De Zerbi the opportunity to pursue Hammers captain Jarrod Bowen in another high-profile deal. A fully fit Mohammad Kudus would face stiff competition on the right flank.

Dominic Solanke would remain the focal point of the attack. However, Al-Hilal striker Marcos Leonardo could arrive as a fresh back-up option after being linked with a move to Spurs. The 22-year-old Brazilian previously played for Santos and Benfica.
