US President Trump faces being frozen out by furious Europe tomorrow over his “belligerent” Iran stance.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France will host a diplomatic meeting with the UK in Paris on Friday to address the issue of the Strait of Hormuz.
This meeting will exclude Trump.
Macron posted on X, urging that the strait be opened ‘as soon as possible.’
Following a conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Macron announced the meeting would involve ‘non–belligerent countries ready to contribute, alongside us, to a multilateral and purely defensive mission aimed at restoring freedom of navigation in the strait when security conditions allow.’
The meeting comes as Trump is starting to become excluded by several European nations from post-war Middle East planning.
White House spokesperson Olivia Wales said:”The United States doesn’t need help from any other country – the blockade is working perfectly, implemented by the greatest Navy in the world, while Iran’s navy is at the bottom of the ocean.”
However, Trump himself earlier declared the strait ‘permanently open’ following talks with Xi Jinping after it was claimed the Chinese leader agreed to stop arming Iran.

According to the Wall Street Journal, French diplomats claim that Trump’s participation in propsals will impact diplomatic progress.
However, British officials have shared concerns that excluding the US may enrage Trump further and create more issues.
Keir Starmer has vocalised that he wishes to remain distanced from the ongoing tensions betweem the two nations. He told the BBC: “We’re not supporting the blockade.
“My decision has been very clearly that whatever the pressure, and there’s been some considerable pressure, we’re not getting dragged into the war.”
The coalition’s main goal is to ensure shipping companies feel safe passing through the Strait of Hormuz after conflict ends.
In order to achieve this, the strategy involves rescue plans for stranded ships, to execute de-mining operations to remove Iranian mines, and establishing a program for military personnel.
French Foreign Minister Jean–Noel Barrot said on Tuesday that this is contingent on regional stability.
Barrot said: “The mission we are referring to could only be deployed once calm has been restored and hostilities have ceased.”
It is also believed that Germany is likely to join the operation.
Trump has been very vocal throughout the war at slating NATO allied for doing ‘nothing’ to help the US secure the Strait of Hormuz, with threats his nation will leave the alliance.
Posting on his social media site last week, Trump said: ‘None of these people, including our own, very disappointing, NATO, understood anything unless they have pressure placed upon them!!!’
