“President Xi, at our recent meeting in Beijing, China, told me that he would not, under any circumstances, give or sell Weapons to the Islamic Republic of Iran — And that statement included Chinese Companies,” his post read.

“Likewise, President Putin, despite the horrible War going on in Ukraine (The relationship remains, as it does with President Zelenskyy), told me that he would not sell Weapons to Iran,” the post continued.

“Therefore, two major Countries that people speak of often in terms of Iran are, in my opinion, not participating.

“If they did, it would be very bad for them — Certainly not in their best interests.”

The US has been in conflict with Iran since late February when joint American-Israeli strikes were carried out on key Iranian sites.

Iran retaliated by striking sites across the Middle East and closing the Strait of Hormuz waterway, through which 20% of global oil traded passes.

On June 17, the US and Iran signed a Memorandum of Understanding to bring the war to a close within 60 days.

Washington and Tehran were working towards securing a lasting peace agreement to bring the conflict to an end, restore international shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and seek to settle an ongoing dispute over Tehran’s nuclear programme.

But both sides have failed to achieve lasting peace, with attacks resuming this month.

This week, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth was asked if Russia and China were helping Iran.

He said there were details that “ought to remain classified” but admitted that China and Russia were “enabling some of the things Iran is doing”.
