‘Very rare’ puppy thrown into bin and left to die looking for new home
She just wants somebody to love and cuddle her – but sadly, nobody has come forward to offer her this. Little Soraya, a two-month-old puppy, was abandoned like rubbish and left to die alongside her four siblings.
Fortunately, all five puppies were saved and are now being cared for by the dedicated team at Greek Stray ResQ, who have pledged to secure loving forever homes for each of them.
Recounting their story, a rescue worker said: “Some souls bring an immediate sense of peace the moment you look at them – and that is exactly who Soraya is.
“Little Soraya is a true miracle baby. She is one of 5 tiny puppies who were found on Good Friday, dumped in a cardboard box next to a trash bin when they were just a few days old.
“Born on April 8, 2026, she has been raised entirely on a bottle, surrounded by round-the-clock medical care, dedication, and an abundance of love.”
Rare dog is one of 2% with green eyes
Not only was Soraya’s beginning in life utterly devastating, but her appearance is remarkably distinctive, owing to her mesmerising green-blue eyes.
While there are no official figures documenting dogs’ eye colour, green is broadly regarded as amongst the most uncommon hues, with under 2% of dogs thought to possess green eyes.
The statement adds: “With her striking, unique green-blue eyes and her gorgeous fluffy coat, Soraya stands out instantly. But what makes her truly magical is her character.
“She is a sweet, patient, and incredibly calm little force. She loves to quietly observe the world around her and simply wants to be close to her humans.”
The charming pooch, who is anticipated to mature into a medium-sized dog, is presently in Attica, Greece, and will be transported to the UK once the ideal owner is identified.
Soraya is now available for adoption
Her adoption statement adds: “Soraya is looking for a dedicated family who will appreciate her tender, peaceful character and offer her a lifetime of safety, stability, and love.”
Responding to her adoption post, one user said: “Please adopt! She is a very sweet, gentle, loving little girl! She will enjoy playing with new toys and going on fun daily walks/adventures!”.
Another user added: “She is beautiful. Prayers for her.”
Greek Stray ResQ is a volunteer-driven organisation committed to rescuing, supporting, and rehoming abandoned cats and dogs throughout Greece.
The group meticulously pairs animals with appropriate families and conducts home inspections and adoption agreements to guarantee pets become beloved members of the household.
How to support Greek Stray ResQ Dog Adoption and Fostering
Beyond rehoming initiatives, volunteers also supply food, blankets, temporary accommodation, and veterinary care to strays residing on the streets or in overcrowded shelters.
The organisation says fostering is equally as vital as adoption, providing vulnerable animals with a secure environment while they await their permanent homes.
Those keen on adopting Soraya or who wish to support the rescue’s efforts are encouraged to visit Greek Stray ResQ for further details.
