Rory McIlroy’s calendar Grand Slam odds as he chases Tiger Woods | Golf | Sport
Just one year after becoming the sixth player in history to complete the career Grand Slam, McIlroy accomplished a feat only three others have ever managed by securing consecutive Masters titles.
The 36 year old held off a formidable field of challengers, spearheaded by world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, to capture his second successive Green Jacket on Sunday evening at Augusta National Golf Club. During the final round, McIlroy’s conduct towards playing partner, Cameron Young, vindicated Bryson DeChambeau’s point.
With his victory, McIlroy has firmly established himself as the favourite in this year’s major championships, and bookmakers have already calculated the Northern Irishman’s prospects of claiming all the majors in 2026, a spell of supremacy no player in history has ever achieved.
Having secured the first of four legs, Betway has offered McIlroy +10000 odds to capture each of the three remaining majors this year.
His next opportunity to showcase his talents on golf’s grandest stage will arrive in just one month, when the world’s elite players travel to Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, for the 2026 PGA Championship commencing on May 14.
McIlroy is presently +700 to claim that title, second in the betting behind Scheffler (+350).
In McIlroy’s sole career appearance at Aronimink at the 2018 BMW Championship, he finished in solo fifth place at 18-under par. Next can play at the U.S. Open, held at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club on June 18.
McIlroy, who failed to make the cut at Shinnecock during the 2018 U.S. Open, is once more listed at +700 to secure the trophy.
At The Open Championship, the final major of the year, McIlroy (+700) is once more second-favourite behind defending champion Scheffler (+400) to lift the Claret Jug at Royal Birkdale.
McIlroy finished T4 in the 2017 edition at the same venue, seven shots behind the winner Jordan Spieth.
Only Tiger Woods has held all four major championships simultaneously, when he followed up his US Open, Open Championship, and PGA Championship victories in 2000 by claiming the Masters in 2001 – an achievement dubbed the Tiger Slam.
Overall, McIlroy is +200 to capture at least one more major in 2026 and +2800 to win at least three of the four majors this calendar year.
