Everything you need to know about how to tune into the World Snooker Championship

  1. The new streaming platform: As of March 26 this year, TNT Sports officially transferred from discovery+ to an entirely new platform on HBO Max. This move forms part of a global shift, establishing HBO Max as the new streaming destination for all premium sports coverage previously on discovery+.
  2. How to watch on HBO Max: Current TNT Sports subscribers can access the HBO Max app using their existing discovery+ credentials. The app is available on mobile devices, smart TVs and gaming consoles.
  3. Streaming for Sky and Virgin subscribers: Those who access TNT Sports through their Sky, Virgin Media or EE TV packages will not experience any alterations to their TV channels. However, those viewing on the move will need to download the HBO Max app and register for free via their provider.
  4. Other ways to watch: There is extensive free-to-air coverage across BBC One, BBC Two and the BBC Red Button. You can also stream everything via BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website.
  5. World Snooker Championship dates: The tournament officially begins on Saturday, April 18, at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. The tournament runs through to Monday, May 4, when the final is.
  6. Morning session: The action kicks off at 10am with defending champion Zhao Xintong taking on Liam Highfield, and Mark Allen facing Zhang Anda.
  7. Afternoon session: Xiao Guodong and Zhou Yuelong will get their clash underway at 2:30pm, as will Mark Williams against Antoni Kowalski on the other table.
  8. Evening session: At 7pm, Zhao and Highfield will pick up where they left off, with Barry Hawkins vs Matthew Stevens the other tie. All times are subject to last-minute changes, and sessions may conclude earlier or later than stated.
