Trump launches furious attack on Israel over Iran war – ‘Not happy’ | World | News

Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on Israel over their role in the Iran war. The US President was asked by reporters whether Israel’s refusal to withdraw from Lebanon could endanger the peace process, which appears to be coming to a close.

He said Israeli attacks against Lebanon are the “minor war”, with the Iran war being the “big one”, and acknowledged the problem is Iranian proxy force Hezbollah. However, he expressed frustration with Israel‘s handling of the conflict, saying it’s been too drawn out and has killed too many people.

Mr Trump said: “Israel’s fighting Hezbollah too long and too many people are being killed.

“You don’t have to knock down an apartment house every time you’re looking for somebody, because there are a lot of people in those apartment houses, and they’re not all Hezbollah, that I can tell you.

“And I suggest that to Israel: to let Syria take care of Hezbollah is, to be honest with you, I think they do a better job of doing it.”

The US President was then asked if he’s frustrated with Benjamin Netanyahu following reports that the pair have butted heads recently.

He responded: “No. We had a great relationship. We’re talking about some end details. We’ve had a very effective relationship; without us, without the United States, there would be no Israel.

“Without me, there would be no Israel, because no other president was willing to do what I did. I’ve had a great relationship with Bibi, but now Bibi has to be more responsible with respect to Lebanon.”
